One of the latest Twitter trends is an account that prompts people to “text this person a massive lie and share their reactions here.” It sounds like the perfect account for April Fool’s Day, but it’s ongoing all year.
Most people don’t like to be pranked but at least we can all have a good laugh at their expense.
At first, people were all about the “Text Your Boyfriend ‘I Want A Baby’ Challenge,” but now the focus has shifted to dads.
We all know how much dads like to care for cars – so there’s no better way to make your father cringe than to tell him you put olive oil in your car instead of motor oil.
Dads are wise and most of those who have been punked see right through the joke, coming back with some hilarious dad joke of their own. Luckily, a few of the dads have fallen for the parody, giving us all something to laugh about.

Wondering what really happens if you put olive oil in a combustion engine? The funny thing is a lot of people are asking this question on Google.
If you have a Diesel engine it just might work for a little bit. But the spark ignition in a standard gasoline-powered automobile would have a very difficult time achieving combustion with vegetable oil alone.
The fuel lines and pumps in a gas engine aren’t meant to handle this sort of fuel, and sensors used to determine fuel ratios in your average modern car can’t handle this sort of variation. That means the end result is not good.
Vegetable oil has a very high viscosity, it’s too thick for the engine to atomize the fuel completely when it is sprayed into the combustion chamber. As a result, the unburned fuel clogs the engine.
You’d have to modify the engine on your car to effectively use vegetable oil as fuel. For starters, you’d need to add some new fuel injector nozzles with an extensive filtering system to make sure only clean fuel gets into the combustion chamber.
If you use dirty cooking oil you’re in even more trouble. Dirty oil would have to be run through several filters before it could be poured in your gas tank. Experts recommend using a fine, durable fabric as a filter before pouring it in your gas tank.
Otherwise, small bits of food and other particles would clog the gas lines.
“New glow plugs, used to ignite the fuel in cold start conditions, can also improve performance if they are designed specifically for use with vegetable oil. Additional heating of the fuel can be accomplished by placing engine coolant lines in contact with fuel lines. The hot coolant will reduce the vegetable oil’s viscosity,” auto.howstuffworks.com explains.
Interestingly enough, several companies actually make modification kits so that you can run your car on vegetable oil – just in case you wanted to take your prank to the next level. The kits range in price, with some costing upwards of $3,000.
Vegetable oil is considered a green way to fuel cars, but it won’t necessary save you any money. It depends on where you live, but in some states, it might cost less if you can buy it in bulk at a restaurant supply store.
Although, it generally won’t save you any money compared to buying petroleum-based fuels.
Still, some hobbyists use vegetable oil to fuel their modified engines. They often get used oil for free from restaurants, and then filter the oil and put it to use.
