Gay Teacher Has The Most Fabulous Response to Homophobic Mom Who Pulled Her Kids From His Class

Even in our modern progressive world, there are still a fair share of homophobes out there. As the world now knows, one in particular lives in Kidderminster, England – and she was not a fan of the beloved Michael Neri.

Neri is a fun-loving drama teacher with a true passion for the performing arts. One look at his Facebook posts and it is clear to see that he is dedicated to helping his students succeed in every way possible.

The artsy genius doesn’t have thin skin, but he was certainly offended by the mom’s brash text. Instead of letting her get the best of him, he came back at her with the most fabulous response.

So fabulous, in fact, it’s taking the Internet by storm.

Neri runs Talking Props Theatre School, a local performing arts school for kids of all ages.

After discovering Neri was gay, the unnamed mother sent him a text message saying she would not be sending her two kids to his class due to her “Christian” beliefs.

“Following our chat this week I have decided that [my kids] will not be attending class on Monday. You have a strong reputation for performing arts which encouraged me to sign my children up for class,” she wrote.

Despite the fact her children could have benefited from working under Neri’s experienced guidance, she wrote: “I have recently learned of your lifestyle and as a Christian I cannot allow my children to be influenced by unconventional ideas.”

She also demanded her deposit back.

“It is our belief that a man should marry a woman. I look forward to receiving my deposit back.”

This discriminatory behavior didn’t go over well with Neri, who was quick to clap back – in the most respectful, and honest, way possible.

“I would be lying if I said I was disappointed to hear this,” Michael begins his response.

“I pride my students on the respect and love they have for others and their passion for equality. You would be infringing on our family. As far as I’m aware, my sexuality doesn’t effect [sic] my ability to teach…”

Later in the text, Michael suggests the woman check out StageCoach, a competing performing arts school in the area.

Although, he warns her that the teachers at that school are known to wear mixed fabrics, “which I’m sure you are aware is forbidden in the bible (Leviticus 19:19).”

In case you’re curious, the English Standard Version for Leviticus 19:19 reads:

“You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material.”

“Please feel free to come see our Musical ‘Happy Days’,” Michael continues. “Confetti will be used in the finale but please rest assure this is not an attempt to corrupt your Christian lifestyle. We just love glitter.”

As for that deposit? Doesn’t look like she’ll be getting it back! “Unfortunately deposits are nonrefundable,” Michael explains.

He made sure to add in: “but don’t worry, your deposit has been donated to StoneWall, an LGBT charity. Regards Michael.”

This world has no room for discrimination and bigotry. Not to mention, when it comes to the world of performing arts, there’s no way to get away from the gays – they are running the show!

Talking Props Theatre School maintains a plethora of 5 star reviews on Facebook.

“For students aiming for drama school and a career in the entertainment industry we pride ourselves on offering realistic training,” their website reads.

“Principal Michael is a theatre producer with an exceptional team of staff and industry professionals actively teaching at the biggest performing arts training facility in Wyre Forest.”

Every year, the school puts on a full scale production along with a series of regular showcases, dance competitions and public performances. It’s unfortunate for this woman’s children that they won’t be able to learn and grow at this studio because of discrimination.
