At first glance it appears that these breathtaking landscape scenes are made with paint and brush, but they are not. Talented embroidery artist Vera Shimunia uses needle and thread to create these impressive masterpieces.
Shimunia’s work is largely influenced by nature and includes bright bursts of color; vast skies, deep blue seas, autumn trees and spring florals quite literally pop off her unique canvass.
The rich textures transfix the beholder and prove that embroidery art really has no boundaries. See for yourself…
Shimunia maintains an Etsy store with over 100 positive reviews and over 480 sold items. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, she has nothing currently for sale – but keep checking back and one of these breathtaking pieces could be yours to cherish forever.
“There are no waiting list for my works,” the artist writes on her Etsy page. “I publish them on my Etsy shop. If you want to buy something, follow me here. And you’ll know when new work will be finished.”
Embroidery art has really taken off in Russia, a variety of artists are taking part in the movement. Although, Shimunia’s work is some of the most breathtaking we’ve seen to date.
Lucky individuals who have scored some of her work on Etsy are even more in awe once they receive their masterpiece in the mail.
“Shimunia’s work is so beautiful and is even more gorgeous in person. Photos cannot capture the small intracate details that are part of what makes her work so visually stunning,” one person writes.
“I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. It’s magical and I will treasure it!” writes another.
“This piece is beautiful and everytime I look at it I see something new to love! Thank you!!!”
She ships her work out all over the world, from Australia to the United States.
